Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment Strategy & Oversight

Lead the development and execution of a strategic enrollment management plan aligned with AUN’s mission and growth goals.
Supervise and coordinate the efforts of Admissions and Student Affairs offices, ensuring a seamless student journey from inquiry to graduation.
Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, and marketing to support targeted recruitment and yield strategies.

Admissions Management

Oversee undergraduate and graduate admissions policies, operations, outreach, and communications.
Ensure efficient, transparent, and student-centered admissions processes.
Monitor applicant trends and conversion rates, recommending policy or procedural changes as needed.

Student Affairs Leadership

Direct programs and services that enhance student engagement, leadership, wellness, and campus life.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe campus environment that aligns with AUN’s values and diverse student body.
Supervise housing, counseling, student life, orientation, and other co-curricular programming.

Data Monitoring and Student Success

Track and analyze key student metrics, including retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
Implement evidence-based practices and interventions to improve student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
Regularly report trends and insights to senior leadership for data-informed decision-making.

Qualifications

Required:

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Enrollment Management, Educational Leadership, or related field.
At least 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in admissions, enrollment management, or student affairs in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated success in increasing student enrollment, retention, and graduation outcomes.
Experience with data analytics and student information systems (e.g., Banner, Power BI, CRM platforms).
Cross-cultural competence and understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in a diverse, international university environment.

Preferred:

Prior experience working in West Africa or with international/��-style institutions in foreign countries.
Demonstrated understanding of the Nigerian secondary and post-secondary education systems or a willingness and capacity to learn expeditiously

Job Overview: Assistant Technical Officer - General

Under the Supervision of the Technical Officer, the Assistant Technical Officer – General (Community HTS) will provide technical support at the state level to implement high-quality care, treatment, and support activities with a primary focus on HIV/AIDS programs. This role will focus on optimizing ART service delivery at various LGAs, tracking ART coverage, and minimizing missed opportunities in service delivery at ACE-1 supported facilities. Key Responsibilities:

Or BSc. Nursing, Public health, Pharmacy or other closely related field with 3-4 years relevant experience.
Or MPH or MS/MA in relevant degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
Or BS/BA in statistics, pharmacy, microbiology, monitoring and evaluation or in relevant degree with 3 to 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with provision of PMTCT and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource constrained settings.
Must have clear understanding of PEPFAR MER indicators and reporting frequencies

Produce attractive and appealing electronic and printed documents, presentations and reports in close concert with the Graphic Design Artiste.
Manage AUN web advertising and taking responsibility for the creation and deployment of electronic banner and text link ads.

Requirements for the position:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred).
At least six years’ experience working with web content and information systems or in related fields preferably in higher education.
Must be competent in the use of PHP, HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHPMyAdmin, JavaScript, Joomla! Content Management System, Web authoring tools (e.g. Dreamweaver, FrontPage) and have basic knowledge in the use of multimedia and graphic animation software.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and must be able to effectively communicate technical policies and procedures to non-technical personnel.
Must be capable of developing web-applications and computer-based information systems and have exceptional Desktop Publishing (DTP) skills.

Analyzes and evaluates grant budgets for correct calculation of��expenditure, fringe benefits, indirect costs, materials, and equipment. Serves as a central negotiator and liaison between the University, funding agencies, and contract entities; researches, drafts, and approves formal responses to requests for proposals, quotation, and agreements. Analyzes and evaluates awarded proposals, for compliance with funding agency and university requirements; prepares required acceptance documentation, and obtains official university signatures; recommends approval or rejection of deviations from grant specifications.��
Assists in the formulation of processes and procedures for negotiation of grant pre-awards and post-awards to meet university requirements; researches appropriate international, national, state, and local requirements to facilitate compliance by all parties; assists in arbitration and resolution of conflicting interests, as necessary.�� To make sure the operations integrate with the overall AUN policies and procedures, and where possible, follow the exact process as any other department of the university does.

Requirements for the position:

Previous supervisory, university experience working with higher education executives at an academic institution. The candidate must have experience with writing and receiving grants for at least five years.��

The �� endeavors to employ more U.S. Citizens who are early in their careers to come to Yola, Adamawa State and serve the campus community through service and activities.�� Those that are admitted must meet the credentials to be admitted into the graduate program (post-graduate in Nigeria) to study in the Master of Science in Communications for Social and Behavioral Change.�� The academic program is in conjunctions with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and consists of 36 credits and can be completed in two years.�� Those that are successfully employed will report to the Director of Sustainability who coordinates the President’s Office community service.�� They will serve around campus helping with areas identified by the President, Dean of Students, Director of Campus Activities and Director of Community Service (students).��

Terms of Agreement

On-campus single room in student Residence Hall (Hostel), if not possible because of space challenges, the student may have one roommate of the same gender.��
Two swipes to eat in the student cafeteria whenever the facility is open.
A stipend will be offered on a monthly basis to assist with cost of living necessities (#50,000)
Health service will be provided at the AUN Clinic
All tuition and fees covered during the time of employment in the Master of Science Program
For each six months of service, the �� G.A. is allotted a one-way ticket and for one year, they are entitled to a roundtrip (return) ticket to the United States.��
Employee is on a 9-month service contract and will only work while students are at the university, meaning in the summer months’ post-graduation, and during the Christmas and New Year Holidays they are not required to be on campus.��
All the �� G.A.s will be on a Nigerian student visa and will receive support from AUN for obtaining the necessary documents from Nigerian Immigration.�� passports are required and not covered under the program.
The G.A.s will work a maximum of 29 hours per week to assist with the program activities as appropriate.��
