Distinctive Features of the AUN Undergraduate Degree
- Interdisciplinary approach – AUN’s general education requirements (see details) encourage you to integrate knowledge across fields. You will take courses across disciplines in humanities, social sciences, information technology, and entrepreneurship.
- Majors and minors – Our curriculum gives you options to change your degree program, your major, or earn additional credentials through pursuing a minor or certificate, or even a second major.
- Skills-focused – Your classes focus less on rote memorization and more on building transferable skills—entrepreneurship, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving— rather than narrow, early-stage vocational training. We equip you for a lifelong career, not just your first job.
- Flexibility – AUN ensures you are placed at the right level at the start, but you design your own schedule each semester, choosing the courses you are most interested in and feel ready to take, in consultation with your academic advisor or faculty mentor.
- Extracurricular & campus life – Learning extends beyond the classroom: extracurricular, service, and leadership opportunities are as diverse as the students who make up AUN’s international community.
- Regional and global impact – You’ll be challenged to think in new ways and gain new perspectives, helping you discover your dreams and become part of Africa’s future.
