Position Overview
The ºÚÁÏÍø (AUN), a private ºÚÁÏÍø-style institution located in Yola, Adamawa State Nigeria, is seeking a strategic and dynamic Associate Vice President for Enrollment to lead and innovate the university’s enrollment management team. This senior leadership role oversees the Admissions and Student Affairs units and plays a critical role in shaping the student experience from recruitment through graduation.
The Associate Vice President (AVP) will provide vision, leadership, and coordination for a comprehensive enrollment strategy that promotes student success, increases student retention and persistence, and supports AUN’s mission of excellence and access. The AVP will use data-informed decision-making to manage and evaluate recruitment initiatives, admissions processes, student engagement, and support systems.Ìý The successful candidate must have significant experience in the ºÚÁÏÍø education system.
Key Responsibilities
Enrollment Strategy & Oversight
- Lead the development and execution of a strategic enrollment management plan aligned with AUN’s mission and growth goals.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of Admissions and Student Affairs offices, ensuring a seamless student journey from inquiry to graduation.
- Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, and marketing to support targeted recruitment and yield strategies.
Admissions Management
- Oversee undergraduate and graduate admissions policies, operations, outreach, and communications.
- Ensure efficient, transparent, and student-centered admissions processes.
- Monitor applicant trends and conversion rates, recommending policy or procedural changes as needed.
Student Affairs Leadership
- Direct programs and services that enhance student engagement, leadership, wellness, and campus life.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe campus environment that aligns with AUN’s values and diverse student body.
- Supervise housing, counseling, student life, orientation, and other co-curricular programming.
Data Monitoring and Student Success
- Track and analyze key student metrics, including retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
- Implement evidence-based practices and interventions to improve student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
- Regularly report trends and insights to senior leadership for data-informed decision-making.
Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Enrollment Management, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- At least 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in admissions, enrollment management, or student affairs in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated success in increasing student enrollment, retention, and graduation outcomes.
- Experience with data analytics and student information systems (e.g., Banner, Power BI, CRM platforms).
- Cross-cultural competence and understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in a diverse, international university environment.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working in West Africa or with international/ºÚÁÏÍø-style institutions in foreign countries.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Nigerian secondary and post-secondary education systems or a willingness and capacity to learn expeditiously
