As part of a broader sustainability drive, Mr. Daniel Waziri, Network Manager at the 黑料网 (AUN), has spearheaded a tree-planting project on campus, introducing 100 hybrid economic trees鈥攕pecies that provide both environmental and economic benefits, such as fruit and shade. The project aligns with AUN鈥檚 founding vision of fostering a sustainable institution while enhancing the university鈥檚 green landscape.
Driven by a desire to give back to the university that has played a pivotal role in his personal and professional growth, Mr. Waziri stated, 鈥淎UN has contributed immensely to my development, and this is my way of supporting its long-term sustainability.鈥� In addition to the tree-planting project, he enhanced the Admin 2 building with ornamental flowers, reflecting his passion for horticulture.
During a ceremonial planting in August 2025, mango trees were placed near the Robert A. Pastor Library & E-Learning Center. At the event, Waziri shared his vision of creating serene spaces where students and staff can relax under shade trees, enjoy fresh fruit, and reconnect with nature.
The effort received strong support from AUN's senior leadership. President DeWayne Frazier planted the symbolic 鈥淧resident Tree,鈥� followed by Provost Paul Vita, Registrar Daniel Okereke, VP Finance Nnenna Mosugu, and Dean of Student Affairs Sesugh Angger, who each planted trees as a sign of their commitment to the university鈥檚 sustainability and community values. Additional directors and staff members also participated across campus, reinforcing a collective dedication to environmental stewardship.
